Jan. 23, Anna Maria City Pier, criminal mischief. An unknown person shot a BB-gun at the plastic curtains on the pier deck. The damage to the curtains was valued at $3,000.

Bradenton Beach
Jan. 20, Sports Lounge, 118 Bridge St., trespass warning. Bradenton Beach Police Department responded to a disturbance at 11 p.m. involving a 26-year-old Cortez man and other patrons. People at the bar told police the man had been yelling and trying to pick a fight with people. The bartender repeatedly told him to leave, which he refused to do until one person delivered the message with a poke in the chest. Police found the man on the Cortez Bridge and drove him back to the bar, where the bartender trespassed him. He left the area without further incident.
Jan. 21, 100 block of Seventh Street North, animal complaint. A woman reported being bitten by a neighbor’s dog three days earlier. The neighbor told BBPD the woman had picked up his dog, which scratched her and she began bleeding. He showed proof of the dog’s rabies vaccine. The woman told police she did not report the incident immediately because she was scared and traumatized.

Cortez
Jan. 22, 4200 block of Cortez, burglary. A 21-year-old man broke a deadbolt, entered a home where the mother of his children was staying and charged at two of five occupants. A friend of the woman restrained the man until deputies arrived and arrested the intruder.

Holmes Beach
Jan. 16, Walgreens, 3200 E. Bay Drive, theft. Liquor valued at approximately $80 was stolen from the store by two women who left northbound in a burgundy car. Holmes Beach Police Department looked for the vehicle tag number, but did not find it.
Jan. 22, Sand-N-Sudz Coin Laundry, 5400 Marina Drive, criminal mischief. Officers responded to a report of a broken store window where a trail of blood was left inside and outside the building. The window was valued at $500. A suspect was identified. The landlord told police he knew the suspect’s father and declined to press charges so long as the damage was paid. He signed a waiver of prosecution and police closed the case.
Jan. 22, 5000 block of Guava Street, missing property. A man reported a $6,000 watch missing from his bedroom dresser.
