Wedding show promotes local vendors

Securing the perfect vendors for a wedding is an exciting, yet daunting aspect of planning the perfect event.

What if there was a one-stop-shop providing a diverse group of local vendors? “Look no further,” says Anna Maria Island Love wedding show event organizer Karen Riley-Love.

The show will be 1-4 p.m., Sunday, June 26, in the Neptune Room at the Seafood Shack, Marina Bar and Grill, 4110 127th St. W., Cortez.

The event will feature vendors selected by Riley-Love of Riley Love Media. The show includes offerings ranging from tasting samples to handmade wedding jewelry — and more, according to Love. The venue will provide attendees with the opportunity to speak with vendors and check out what they have to offer.

One vendor is Amberly Waterman, a classically trained violinist and graduate of The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland who performed with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. She came to Anna Maria Island to attend a wedding, stayed and became an island bride.

Looking for a novel twist on the traditional wedding cake? The Donut Experiment in Anna Maria is so popular the line of customers often extends out the front door.

Following frequent requests from couples inquiring about doughnut wedding cakes, owners Shawn and Cecilia Wampole created an unusual but tasty cake, said Love.

Another area favorite, Sunshine Canning of Bradenton, will provide samples of artisanal jams, a possible choice for a wedding favor.

Lisa Fulk, owner of Sunshine Canning, said, “Our mission is to support local farmers and most of our products are made from local, seasonal produce. These are small batch — often no more than five or six jars at a time — handcrafted from the freshest ingredients with no added preservatives.”

At the show, attendees can register with vendors for prize giveaways and each guest will receive an island-themed swag bag, Love said.
