The Florida Department of Health in Manatee County issued a “no swim” advisory for Palma Sola South, a beach along the Palma Sola Causeway on Manatee Avenue/State Road 64.
The notice was issued June 10.
Other beaches located in Manatee County were not under an advisory.
The advisory indicates water contact might pose an increased risk of infectious diseases to humans.
Health department officials issued the notice after samples taken June 6 and June 8 showed an elevated level of enterococci bacteria.
The advisory will be in effect until the water meets U.S. Environmental Protection Agency safety guidelines.
