Green in the sun

Kyle Feehan recently observed a green iguana measuring about 4 feet in length in her island backyard. “In all the years I’ve been coming to the island, I’ve NEVER seen one!” she wrote to The Islander. “There may be more than one hanging around. … He loves to sun himself on the dock or on a mangrove tree branch during the afternoon!” Green iguanas are not native to Florida and are considered an invasive species due to their impacts to native wildlife and plants.
