Voters in Manatee County were
heading to the polls Tuesday, Aug. 18,
for primary elections.
While there were no Anna Maria Island municipal races on ballots, partisan voters on AMI did have nomination contests at the federal and state level to help decide. Also, Republicans countywide were to vote in an at-large county commission primary.
Polling hours were 7 a.m.-7 p.m. — after press time, as the Islander Aug. 19 issue was distributed overnight Aug. 17.
Anna Maria’s voters were to cast ballots at Roser Memorial Community Church, 512 Pine Ave. There are 751 registered voters in Precinct 301, including 174 Democrats and 417 Republicans.
Bradenton Beach’s voters were to cast ballots at the Annie Silver Community Center, 103 23rd St. N. There are 468 registered voters in Precinct 307, including 121 Dems and 229 Republicans.
Holmes Beach’s Precinct 305 voters were to cast ballots at the Island Library, 5701 Marina Drive. There are 2,148 registered voters in Precinct 305, including 407 Democrats and 1,244 Republicans.
