Shortly after, they moved to Denver, where he attended University of Colorado-Boulder and pursued his career.

Their two daughters, Alanna and Alyssa were born there. In 1982, the family moved to Holmes Beach. Sharon died in 1990.

Erskine R. Pickwick II

Erskine R. “Rick” Pickwick II, 90, of Bradenton, died May 7.

He was born in Boston to the late Dr. Erskine R. Pickwick and Elinor Souther Pickwick and raised in Fitchburg and Scituate, Massachusetts.

He attended the Cambridge School of Weston and Colorado State University. Following his education, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy, 1958-60, and Naval Reserve, 1961-64.

After completing his military service, Mr. Pickwick worked for the federal government at the Pentagon before concluding his career at The World Bank in Washington, D.C.

He was a man of diverse passions and creative talents. He had a lifelong love for classic cars and a deep appreciation for music. An avid photographer, he generously volunteered as the photographer for the Anna Maria Island Concert Chorus & Orchestra.

He cherished the time spent with his wife, including restoring houses.

He was immensely proud to be the third generation of his family to winter on Anna Maria Island. He spent time on the island as a child and later rediscovered its charm in the 1980s, eventually making Holmes Beach his permanent residence.

A celebration of life will be scheduled this fall in Virginia. The family requests memorial donations be made to support medical advancement through the American Stroke Association or the Dementia Society of America. Online condolences may be expressed at brownandsonsfuneral.com.
