Shearon outspends Pierce in campaign
Campaign reports filed as of Oct. 23 indicate that challenger William “Bill” Shearon outspent incumbent Michael Pierce in the initial weeks of the Bradenton Beach mayoral race.
The race will be decided Nov. 3.
Pierce’s campaign reports, filed with the Manatee County Supervisor of Elections Office, indicate that he personally lent his campaign $100.
The reports indicate that $96 was spent on qualifying for the election.
Shearon made three loans to his campaign that totaled $3,500.
The reports indicate he spent $96 to qualify for the election, as well as $731 for signs, $605 for printing and $576 on postage and labels.
Shearon’s partner, Tjet Martin, donated $20 of in-kind services for assisting with campaign mailings.
Additional campaign finance reports are due prior to balloting on Oct. 30 and post-election on Feb. 1, 2010.
